Zeer oude schepradmolen, waarschijnlijk daterend uit 1597, het jaar van de definitieve drooglegging.
Kan zowel in- als uitmalen en heeft tot 1966 gewerkt.
Bemaalt de 222ha. van de gecombineerde polders P en V.
Het wiekenkruis is in de jaren dertig verbeterd volgens het systeem Dekker, waarbij de roeden door middel van metalen platen een betere, meer gestroomlijnde vorm hebben gekregen.
De molen is door stichting De Zijper molens eind jaren zeventig opgeknapt en de molen is bedrijfsvaardig.
