Boating junctions: from number to number on the water

A boating junction is a numbered point on the water, usually where canals, waterways or rivers meet. Just as with cycling and walking, you put your trip together from a series of numbers and follow the signs to the next junction along the way. The network is meant for small boats such as sloops, and lies in the water-rich areas of the Netherlands.

How to plan a route by junctions

In the route planner you click the junctions in the order you want to sail them. The planner turns them into one route and shows how long your trip is and roughly how much time you will be on the water. The map also shows where you can eat and drink along the way. Then print the list of junctions or download the GPX. Planning is free and you do not need an account.

On the way

On the way you follow the signs with the number of the next junction. Keep an eye on bridges, locks and the rules on the water yourself: the planner shows the network, not clearance heights or opening times.
