Wandel langs het Spaarne richting Spaarndam en neem een kijkje bij het boezemgemaal Spaarndam, een van de vier grote gemalen van Rijnland die het water vanuit de boezem afmaalt op het buitenwater. Het gemaal dateert uit 1845, toen zorgden stoommachines nog voor de aandrijving van de schepraderen. Om de hoek vindt u hier ook het gerestaureerde verdedigingswerk Fort bezuiden Spaarndam, waar u op het terras van Fort-Zuid terecht kunt voor een hapje en drankje.
