Je vaart nu ten noorden van de oude Romeinse rijksgrens, de Limes.Als je hier voet aan wal zet sta je in het land van de barbaren, locals die onder het strikt gezag contact hadden en handel dreven met de Romeinen. Archeologische vondsten, zoals aardewerk en sieraden, tonen aan dat voorwerpen die binnen en buiten het Romeinse rijk werden gemaakt aan beide kanten van de grens werden gebruikt.
