Verschillende restanten uit de Romeinse tij

Welkom in Zwammerdam waar je verschillende restanten uit de Romeinse tijd kunt zien en dat zijn faam dankt aan de zes Romeinse schepen die hier begin jaren '70 zijn gevonden. De vondst was destijds een grote sensatie waarvoor zelfs de koningin een paar keer langs kwam. Sindsdien is de naam 'Zwammerdam' ook internationaal gekoppeld aan het scheepstype dat hier is gevonden: een platbodem met rechte boorden en een lengte van 20 tot wel 35 meter.
