4. De Mooie Nel

Aan BZ ligt de Mooie Nel. Oorspronkelijk stond dit meer bekend als ‘Mooien Hel’, maar deze naam verbasterde in de loop der tijd tot Mooie Nel. Mooi is ze zeker, want vissers, zeilers en andere watersporters genieten hier volop. De Mooie Nel gaat over in de Liede, een oud veenriviertje dat ooit het Spaarne verbond met het Haarlemmermeer. Alleen lage boten tot circa 60 centimeter kunnen verderop onder de fietsbrug door. Wij blijven op het Spaarne en varen verder richting Haarlem.
