24. Pompstation Leyduin/ Drinkwatermuseum

Het gebouw aan BZ is het oude pompstation Leyduin van de voormalige Amsterdamsche Duinwater Maatschappij. Het stamt uit 1853 en werd gebruikt om water uit de duinen bij Leyduin naar Amsterdam te pompen. Tegenwoordig vind je hier het Bedrijfsmuseum Waternet Heemstede, beter bekend als het Drinkwatermuseum. In dit museum leer je van alles over de drinkwatervoorziening, van 1853 tot nu. Achter het museum ligt het terrein waarop Waternet nu water uit de waterleidingduinen, zuivert tot drinkwaterkwaliteit. Hoewel Rijnland geen drinkwater produceert, delen we met Waternet de zorg om schoon en kwalitatief goed oppervlaktewater. Daarmee zijn we partners in de waterketen.
