2. Woonboten

Als we onder de brug van de A4 doorkomen zien we veel woonboten op de Ringvaart. Dit zijn tegenwoordig volledige huizen, vaak zelfs met meerdere verdiepingen. Aan stuurboordzijde (SZ) ligt de gemeente Amsterdam. Aan bakboordzijde (BZ) ligt de gemeente Haarlemmermeer. De vaarsnelheid is, zoals bijna overal, 6 kilometer per uur. Deze snelheid vinden de bewoners van de woonarken soms al te hoog, want de deining van voorbijvarende boten zorgt voor overlast.
