1. Beluchtingsinstallatie

Op de bodem van de Nieuwe Meer bevindt zich een luchtmenginstallatie voor het behoud van de waterkwaliteit. Deze bestaat uit buizen waar lucht door wordt gepompt. De opstijgende luchtbellen helpen om hinderlijke blauwalgen te bestrijden. Blauwalgen gedijen vooral in de warme bovenlaag van het water, maar door verticale menging van de waterlagen komen ze terecht in koudere waterlagen en dat overleven ze niet. Zo kunnen wij hier ‘s zomers gewoon een verfrissende duik nemen! In de Nieuwe Meer geldt deels een ankerverbod. Houd daar rekening mee, zodat je kunt blijven genieten van blauwalgenvrij water. Door de Nieuwe Meersluis kun je Rijnlands beheergebied verlaten om over de Schinkel naar het gebied van waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht te varen. Wij blijven binnen Rijnlands gebied en gaan over de Ringvaart in noordwestelijke richting.
